Packing for a White Desert Egypt camping tour is surprisingly simple\u2014if you know what the tour already provides and what conditions to expect once you leave Cairo.<\/p>

The biggest packing mistake travelers make is preparing for the White Desert as if it were simply another sightseeing day in Egypt.<\/p>

It is not.<\/p>

A typical overnight White Desert journey can include several hours of road travel from Cairo or Giza to Bahariya Oasis, a 4×4 safari through the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain and Agabat, walking over sand and rocky terrain, sunset, dinner at a temporary desert camp, a night outdoors and an early sunrise the following morning.<\/p>

That means you need to prepare for several very different conditions within the same trip:<\/p>

warm daytime sun, wind, dust, cool or cold nighttime temperatures, basic bathroom facilities and limited access to electricity.<\/p>
