Also known as the Southern Sanctuary, Luxor Temple played an important role during the annual Opet Festival, when statues of the gods were carried in a ceremonial procession between Karnak and Luxor Temple. Your guide will explain the religious importance of the temple, its connection to Karnak, and the changes it witnessed through ancient Egyptian, Roman, Christian, and Islamic periods.
